User interface and graphic designer Colin Brannan, in collaboration with GB Studio, created an amazing Disco Elysium Game Boy demake. The demake covers the first section of the original game. While there’s no music and it cuts some of the dialogue, the demake does an incredible job of establishing that great sense of atmosphere from the original. And of course the drug usage and gore mentions is included as well.
The skill system also underwent some big changes. Skills have been collected into four categories, and you attempt skill checks to advance that skill. Failed rolls give +1 skill cap, and successes +1 skill point if you aren’t at the cap. You also get to choose an archetype at the beginning of the game.
You can play the demake here through your browser or download it to your computer. Check out the gallery of screenshots below as well.
