The Latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update Has Removed Harv's Hacked Fences

"Goodbye my fav hacked item".

Yesterday, Nintendo rolled out version 1.5.0 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and while the main purpose of this update was to add some spooky seasonal content in time for Halloween, it seems to have also removed certain hacked items.

One item, in particular, that's gone missing since this update is Harv's hacked fence - based on the same fence on his island, Photopia. Just like Star Fragments it's not really meant to be accessible to the player. For some time though, hackers have been distributing stacks of this fence to other players - allowing them to place them around their own islands. As of the latest update, it seems these days are over.

Black Ops Cold War Zombies Is Adding a Game-Changing Weapons Feature

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is updating the franchise’s staple Zombies mode by adding a new weapon feature that’ll completely change how players arm themselves while surviving the onslaught of zombies. Weapons in Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode will now feature different rarities which means they’ll be found at varying power levels throughout a Zombies match. This means that instead of being pushed towards a limited number of viable late-game weapons, you’ll be able to utilize the different weapon rarities do diversify your loadouts and use more varied weapons. The change coming to the Zombies mode in Black Ops Cold War was first discussed in the reveal of the version of Zombies Treyarch’s crafted for the new Call of Duty game. EA Play Coming to Xbox Game Pass for Consoles on November 10th

In a recent update on Xbox Wire, Microsoft has confirmed that EA Play will join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on November 10th. It will be available to console subscribers first, just in time for the launch of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Those on PC will have to wait until December to access the same (though it will be available with regular Xbox Game Pass for PC subscriptions along with Ultimate). The company also noted that some of “the best EA Play games” will be playable on Android via cloud gaming. It will likely reveal which titles in the coming days but that’s a nice added bonus on top of all the Game Pass titles playable on the same. Other benefits offered by EA Play include access to its own Vault of titles, discounts on EA digital content and limited time trials for upcoming games. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate retails for $15 per month and provides access to Game Pass titles on PC and console along with Xbox Live Gold. Cloud gaming was recently added to the service as well with more than 150 games available. As noted above, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are out in November and will retail for $499 and $299 respectively.

DOOM Eternal and Forza Motorsport 7 Headline Xbox Game Pass Additions

Microsoft have revealed the full lineup of games they will be adding to Xbox Game Pass over the coming couple of weeks on all devices- Xbox One, PC, and now that the service is fully available on it, Android. It’s a solid lineup of new additions all around, with the console and Android folks in particular getting two great new games. On October 1, as revealed earlier, DOOM Eternal will be added to the Game Pass catalog on console and Andoid. October 1 will also see the launch of indie title Drake Hollow, and the game will be available on Game Pass for PC at launch. October 8 will see three new additions, with Double Fine’s bizarre action-adventure title Brutal Legend coming to Game Pass for console, and Forza Motorsport 7 coming to the service on both console and Android. Meanwhile, indie turn-based tactical RPG Ikenfall releases on October 8, and will also be available on Game Pass day and date for console and PC.

Xbox Series X – Boot Up Speed From Suspend And Full Shutdown Demoed

Ever since the upcoming systems were revealed, one of the things that both Sony and Microsoft have pushed is their raw speed. The PS5, Xbox Series X, and Series S all use SSDs, which are much faster than the HDDs we’ve grown accustomed to having. The Series X has been making the rounds lately, and people have been impressed with the incredible Quick Resume ability the system has that’s been said to suspend up to 6 games, even up to 12 depending on what you’re playing. And now we see just how fast the system as a whole can boot. VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb uploaded videos to his personal YouTube of him booting the system up. First up is from suspend mode, and that is lightning quick at just three seconds. The other is from a full shutdown and a cold boot. That takes about roughly 20 seconds. While not quite as fast as you may expect, for reference, the average time for an Xbox One X is just over a minute. Both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will release on November 10th. We also know from the latest information that the Series X will have an internal storage of 802 GB, but as of now we don’t know about the Series S.

PS5 might not arrive till 2021 for some GameStop Ireland customers

Gamestop Ireland has informed some customers that their pre-ordered PS5 might not arrive until 2021. An email seen by VGC comes with a message that says: "Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of our control, we've now got confirmation that we won’t be able to fulfil your pre-order until 2021." The retailer has offered customers the option of holding onto their pre-order and letting them know when they'll be able to receive a PS5 in a "future wave" or cancel their pre-order entirely to get a refund on their deposit. This follows news that Sony has started to let European retailers know how much stock they will get come launch day. ShopTo is also reportedly contacting customers to let them know if they'll be able to receive a pre-ordered console on November 19, with some unfortunate customers being told they won't get their machine on day one. This follows Amazon also emailing customers to let them know that some consoles may not arrive on release day, which you might have noticed is starting to become a bit of trend. Still, it's worth not panicking too much yet, as all these retailers are contacting customers directly, so if you haven't heard about your pre-ordered console yet, it should still be heading to you at launch. If you haven't managed to pre-order a PS5 or Xbox Series X, don't lose hope yet. Certain retailers have been able to secure more stock since pre-orders went live and as our features editor Josh West argues, 2021 is when next-gen will really start to deliver.

xCloud iOS announcement could be incoming

An announcement about xCloud coming to iOS could be on the horizon according to recent rumours. Windows Central journalist Jez Corden has replied to a series of different tweets that seem to suggest news could be on the way regarding xCloud on iOS. In one tweet regarding Bethesda games on different platforms in the future, Corden dropped the suggestion of using an iOS device, which could be hinting at as yet unannounced news that Microsoft's Cloud streaming service may be coming to the App Store in the future. Another tweet suggests there's some big tech news on the way, as hinted by Corden and Verge journalist Tom Warren. While this is all conjecture, folks on Reddit are reading into the tweets and speculating about whether or not they hint at an upcoming announcement. There's been a lot of uncertainty about if xCloud will actually get iOS support at some stage in the future after Apple revised its guidelines. Microsoft was reportedly unhappy with the new update to the terms of service, which stated that every game included in the streaming service needs to have its own dedicated page on the App store. The guidelines also stipulated that the games would have to be purchased through the App store rather than the streaming service itself. xCloud officially launched on September 15, and can currently be used on Android phones and tablets if you have an Xbox Games Pass Ultimate subscription. In a recent interview with CNBC, Phil Spencer was asked about Apple's terms and said that Xbox is still committed to bringing Game Pass to all phones including Apple phones, and added that, "we'll continue the conversations and I'm sure we'll get to some resolution."

Microsoft Flight Simulator’s Next World Update Will Improve The United States

Today, during a livestreamed Q&A, head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neuman and Asobo Studio CEO Sebastian Wloch provided some interesting tidbits about the future.

First of all, we learn that further World Updates following Japan (which was launched yesterday) won’t necessarily be tied to trade show. This one was announced at Tokyo Game Show, but it was simply an opportunity that came up.

As a matter of fact, the next World Update will feature the United States. It will launch later this year.

World updates will come every two-to-three months on a rolling basis.

Leter in the chat, Neuman teased that the DEM (Digital Elevation Model) that will be used for the United States is “crazy good.”

That being said, the team is also working on the first large “Sim Update” which will include features and improvements to the core simulator brought up by the community. That’s planned for early November.

Incidentally, signups have been opened for a closed beta of the upcoming VR support.

Below you can also see a quite uplifting video focusing on Shinji Maeda, the world’s first Japanese one-eyed certified pilot.

If you want to learn more about Microsoft Flight Simulator, you can check out our review that will tell you everything you need to know about Asobo Studio’s new and groundbreaking game.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is already available for Windows 10 and Steam. An Xbox version is also planned for the future but has no release date for now.

Nintendo's Jump Rope Challenge to Remain on Switch eShop 'Until Further Notice'

Nintendo has changed course and will not be removing the free download of Jump Rope Challenge on Switch on September 30, 2020, as originally planned, and stated that it will remain on the eShop "until further notice." The news was announced by Nintendo on Twitter alongside it revealing that players have performed 2.5 billion total jumps since Jump Rope Challenge's launch in June 2020. Jump Rope Challenge has players grabbing their Joy-Con and using them to jump rope virtually and working to get a high score as hopping bunnies. It boasts simple menus and no long tutorials, ensuring players can get into the fun with little barrier to entry. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=jump-rope-challenge-screenshots&captions=true"] This free game was created by a small group of Nintendo developers who were working at home following the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to "add some quick and fun movement into their daily lives." This decision by Nintendo, while not necessarily a sign of things to come, may be a glimmer of hope for other Nintendo games with a planned limited release, including Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. 35. Super Mario 3D All-Stars collects Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy in one collection. It's available now, but Nintendo has said it will have a limited physical and digital release until March 31, 2021. It is yet unclear what will happen to these game following that. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/09/16/super-mario-3d-all-stars-analysis"] Super Mario Bros. 35 is a battle-royale like competitive version of the original Super Mario Bros. that is also reminiscent of Tetris 99. The US Navy Spent $2 Million on Marketing for its eSports Team

Navy eSports Team

According to a report from Vice, the US Navy has spent $2 million USD on marketing for its venture into eSports. This information came to light in documents obtained by Vice’s tech division, Motherboard.

Specifically, the Navy contracted a”full-service marketing agency” named Young & Rubicam, with the goal of reaching younger viewers and developing better recruitment techniques.

“The objective of this initiative is to develop a relationship between the Navy and the eSports community, to encourage these ingenuity seekers to view the Navy as aligning with their interests and providing the rewards that they seek, ultimately inspiring prospects to want to join the U.S Navy and the influencers to support or recommend the service,” said the document.

This comes after repeated PR disasters for the U.S Navy sports team, the Goats and Glory, as well as a call from some U.S Congressmembers to ban recruitment to military services via Twitch.

Back in July, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat from New York, pushed for a total ban on military services using Twitch as a recruitment tool, although the vote was swiftly brought down. Over 100 Democrats joined Republicans in denying the measure. “It’s incredibly irresponsible for the Army and the Navy to be recruiting impressionable young people and children via live streaming platforms,” Ocasio-Cortez told Vice.

However, a possible ban on recruitment was the least of the Navy eSports team’s concerns. Earlier this month, the team streamed Among Us, with players naming themselves “Gamer Word,” “Hiroshima,” and “Japan 1945.” “Gamer Word” is a common euphemism for the n-word.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty gets October release date on Switch

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, developer Oddworld Inhabitants' acclaimed remake of its 1997 puzzle-platformer Abe's Oddysee, will be making its way to Switch on 27th October.

New 'n' Tasty isn't exactly new, of course, having burst onto various platforms (including Wii U) back in 2014, but it's still a delight, giving the original game's gorgeously wrought tale of meat-processing and revolution - as seen through the eyes of put-upon floor-waxer Abe - a fresh lease of life with wonderfully expressive 3D character models, backgrounds, and cinematics.

"Despite such major graphical surgery, the soul of the game has survived along with the aesthetic", wrote Eurogamer's Christian Donlan in his 9/10 review back at launch. "What really stands out about Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! is the sheer coherency of the original design. It was startling back in 1997 on the PlayStation when games did not often turn up with proper themes to think about, and it's still just as startling in 2014".

Cyberpunk 2077 Devs Reportedly Required to Crunch to Meet November Release Date

CD Projekt Red is reportedly enacting mandatory six-day workweeks to finish work on Cyberpunk 2077 in time for its November release. The studio previously promised employees that there will be no mandatory crunch to finish the highly-anticipated RPG. In a report published by Bloomberg, CD Projekt Red studio head Adam Badowski sent an email to staff explaining the decision to crunch before the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Badowski even addresses how the crunch decision reverses earlier promises from the company saying they wouldn’t require it. “I take it upon myself to receive the full backlash for the decision,” Badowski reportedly wrote in an email. “I know this is in direct opposition to what we’ve said about crunch. It’s also in direct opposition to what we’ve said about crunch. It’s also in direct opposition to what I personally grew to believe a while back — that crunch should never be the answer. But we’ve extended all other possible means of navigating the situation.” [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/09/01/cyberpunk-2077-rtx-showcase-trailer"] Crunch is a term across a variety of industries where employees are asked to put in extra hours, sometimes days, to complete a project before a deadline. The commitment extends far beyond the typical workday or week, meaning employees typically stay late into the night and weekends to meet strict goals. CD Projekt co-founder Marcin Iwiński gave an interview to Kotaku in 2019 saying that it would like CD Projekt to be known as a studio that’s humane to its developers, and discussing its “non-obligatory crunch policy.” For more on crunch and its impact on game developers, read about the worrying trends in mental health within the games industry. Binding of Isaac’s Next Expansion Gets Steam Listing, Release Date

The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, the next expansion to The Binding of Isaac, has finally received some new details regarding its status, and it’s set to receive plenty of reveals in the coming months.

In a blog post made to Steam on Sept. 28, series creator Edmund McMillen revealed that Repentance had officially been listed for pre-order on Steam and was 90 percent complete. The expansion is currently slated for a tentative release date of Dec. 31, 2020 on PC. Info on what kind of new content the expansion will entail is set to be revealed through blog posts slated for publishing from mid-October on.

The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is set to feature a wealth of new content, so much so that McMillen compares it to a full-on sequel of sorts and says it’s on par with the amount of content added to the original flash game since Rebirth.

“I’ve been working closely with the team to ensure that this is the ‘Sequel DLC’ you’ve always wanted,” McMillen wrote. “The team has gone above and beyond and we’re really proud of how the game is coming together and I have a feeling you’re gunna shit your asses when you get your hands on it.”

McMillen likewise confirmed that there were console versions in the works. However, he stated that Tyrone Rodriguez, founder of Binding of Isaac’s publisher Nicalis, would be the person to reveal any news regarding when the release date for the expansion on consoles would be.

Which consoles the expansion might be released on has not been confirmed at this time.

The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is currently slated for release on Dec. 31 on PC via Steam. For more on all things related to the series, check out our review of The Legend of Bumbo, a turn-based spin-off title focused on a fan-favorite character from the original game.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Rated For The Nintendo Switch

Arrives next February.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered isn't the only game that's been recently rated. Yesterday, in Australia, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury was classified by the local board.

Unlike EA's game, this Nintendo published title has obviously already been announced. We also know it's arriving next year 12th February. This rating at least serves as a reminder that it's still on the way.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies to Get Official Reveal this Week

Last year, when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was released, it was missing one critical mode: Zombies. The outlandish Zombies mode wasn’t a good fit for the realistic, gritty vibe of Modern Warfare, but it’ll be making a return to this year’s entry.

Over on the official Call of Duty Twitter page, it looks like we’ll be getting the official Zombies reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War later this week.

More specifically, the reveal will start at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on Sept. 30, or 1 p.m. Eastern Time. The reveal trailer itself will debut on the Call of Duty YouTube page.

While we don’t have any solid details about the mode just yet, it’s probably safe to assume that it’ll play out similarly to the modes in past entries. Up to four players will be able to explore a few different maps, buying weapons and finding clues to activate devices in order to unlock more of the map and progress. In the meantime, they’ll have to fend off hordes of zombies that come in waves, making the game more difficult as they progress.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to be released on Nov. 13 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

TikTok Downloads Set to Be Banned in the US from Sunday [Update]

Update: A federal judge has blocked the White House's ban on TikTok downloads in the United States just hours before the ban was set to take effect on Sunday night. Washington D.C. District Judge Carl Nichols agreed to TikTok's request for a temporary injunction against the U.S. ban after claiming that the Trump administration "likely exceeded the lawful bounds" of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. This is the Act the administration used to justify its ban on TikTok. Nichols cited how the IEEPA does not give the president any authority to ban "the importation or exportation of 'information or informational materials" or "personal communication, which do [] not involve a transfer of anything of value." Furthermore, Nichols sided with TikTok when the video app argued the ban will cause "irreparable economic and reputational harm" to the app as another reason to temporarily halt the ban. TikTok is still under threat of effectively shutting down by November 12 if a deal to sell its U.S. operations isn't complete by that deadline. TikTok asked Nichols for relief on that front as well, but Nichols said that matter should be handled by another proceeding. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Original Story: The Department of Commerce has ordered that downloads for mobile apps TikTok and WeChat be banned in the US from Sunday. American users will not be able to download the apps after September 20. Those with the apps already downloaded will still be able to use them, but they won't be able to access any future updates for TikTok or WeChat, which may damage their functionality. The apps will be fully banned and made illegal on November 12 if President Trump's security concerns with TikTok and WeChat are not resolved by that date. Oracle was recently negotiating to become TikTok's 'trusted tech partner' in the U.S. - if that deal goes ahead, the ban can be reversed. You can read the full release from the Department of Commerce here, in which Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross details the reasons behind the order. According to Ross, this order has been issued to "safeguard the national security of the United States." "The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has demonstrated the means and motives to use these apps to threaten the national security, foreign policy, and the economy of the U.S. Today’s announced prohibitions when combined, protect users in the U.S. by eliminating access to these applications and significantly reducing their functionality." This move follows Executive Orders signed by Trump in August which sought to block TikTok and WeChat's operations in the US if they were not sold by their Chinese-owned parent companies, ByteDance and Tencent. Microsoft was in discussions to purchase TikTok in the United States after the app fell under scrutiny from the Trump administration. Microsoft has since said that TikTok operator ByteDance would not sell them its US operations. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Jordan Oloman is a freelance writer for IGN. Follow him on Twitter.

Fall Guys Offering Limited Time Gris Skin for 10 Crowns

Fall Guys

The widespread Fall Guys hype may have simmered down a touch, but the game continues to be a popular success with content still coming from developer Mediatonic. The latest content comes in the form of a skin based on Gris, the 2D platforming game from Nomada Studio.

The Gris skin is based on the titular protagonist from the game and features, pretty much, hair. The outfit itself comes in two parts and is a shade of purple and features lighter purple swirls to decorate it. The top part of the outfit features Gris’ hair, blending from blue to purple.

The skin can be purchased through the Fall Guys in-game store through the use of Crowns — the currency you get for successfully winning all rounds in a game. Both the top half and the bottom half will cost you 5 crowns each bringing the total for the full skin to 10 Crowns.

Fall Guys has done well for itself, finding itself being the biggest PC launch since Overwatch, and bringing in over $185 million. Mediatonic also used the game’s popularity to help raise $1,000,000 for a UK-based charity, SpecialEffect.

The game is still currently in its first season, however, season 2 is due to be arriving next month which is to introduce a range of new content, including more skins and levels. It’s currently available on PC and PS4.

Ex-Rockstar producer raises $40m for open-world game Everywhere

Former Grand Theft Auto series producer Leslie Benzies has raised over $40.8 million for his in-development sci-fi open world game, Everywhere.

According to a report in The Telegraph, Benzies’ studio Build a Rocket Boy has succeeded in securing investment in the upcoming game from a variety of sources, including from Chinese tech company Netease (who has been making a lot of big gaming investments lately).

As per consultancy firm Beauhurst, Build a Rocket Boy’s latest funding round attracted over $40 million worth of investments.

Everywhere promo image, Build a Rocket Boy

Benzies worked on the Grand Theft Auto series at Rockstar North until 2016, when he left the company and took legal action against the studio and its parent company, Take-Two, claiming $150 million in unpaid royalties. The case was long and messy but was eventually settled in 2019.

Everywhere itself will be very different from anything Benzies has worked on before.

“Everywhere has a lot of traditional game mechanics but we’re going for something more that draws inspiration from, well, everywhere,” Benzies told Venturebeat in a 2017 interview.

“Players are getting smarter and require more from their games, and we want players to have the real freedom to live in our worlds in the ways they want to. We’re aiming to offer a huge variety of game modes and styles that not only tell our stories but also enable players to live in the identities and adventures they most want to explore.”

The game hasn’t been seen in a little while, and the current state of the title is unclear – though from this new round of funding, it’s obvious that Everywhere is at least still in active development.

Benzies is joined by Matthew Smith (audio lead) and Colin Entwhistle (lead camera programmer), both former Rockstar employees that joined Build a Rocket Boy back in 2017.

Pokemon Cafe Mix Adds Co-Op Mode, Snorlax Joins The Party

Pokemon Cafe Mix

Pokemon Cafe Mix was announced as part of one of this summer’s Pokemon Presents presentations. The Free to Play puzzler, which achieved over five million downloads in less than two months, sees you take control of a cafe, serving guests and enticing other Pokemon to join your staff.

With the success of the title, support has continued to come and multiple updates have hit the game since launch. The latest update is one of the most substantial as it allows players to build a team, consisting of their real-world friends, to help with trickier Pokemon.

The creation of a team costs 300 Golden Acorns and upon creation designates the original creator as the team captain. The official update recommends using this as an opportunity to create new friendships, saying:

“You can form a team with your existing friends, but this is also a great opportunity to branch out and become friends with other players as well.

You can always join an existing team. You can search for specific teams via their team name or team ID, or you can choose a team from a randomly generated list to join. No matter which method you choose, you and your new teammates will combine your efforts to take on some formidable challenges.”

The update also adds some new bonuses for players. For every team member recruited to a team, players will earn a bonus 300 Golden Acorns (up to 10,000). Players will also have the option to purchase, for real money, the special Team Order Pack. This pack contains a Pikachu wearing a Snorlax outfit, 13,400 golden acorns and a variety of items that can be used to help complete puzzles.

The main focus of forming a team is to take down a “very hungry” Snorlax. The Pokemon, who is available now until October 8, will be a very formidable challenge and players will “definitely need some helping hands” to recruit Pokemon Cafe Mix’s latest customer. Upon being recruited, Snorlax has a special ability that can “can clear Pokémon icons and gimmicks within a certain range below.”

Pokemon Cafe Mix is available now on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.

Next Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Update Gets Trailer & Screenshots Showing Fatalis & More

Today Capcom released a new trailer and a gallery of screenshots showcasing the fifth free title update for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

We get to see Fatalis and Arch Tempered Velkhana on top of the gear they will provide.

On top of that, we take a look at the gear from the Universal Studio Japan collaboration and the new Seliana fest titled “Fun Fright Quest,” which will celebrate Halloween.

Of course, it comes with its own rewards and decorations.

The update releases on October 1, so you won’t need to wait long.

This will be the final update for Iceborne as Capcom prepares to move on after a long support for Monster Hunter World as a whole. It’ll be interesting to see if its team will reveal a sequel at some point. Considering how successful it has been, I would be surprised if it didn’t happen.

You can check out the trailer and screenshots below.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is available worldwide for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One since September 6, 2019, while Steam version was released in January.

If you’re interested in Monster Hunter in general, Capcom recently announced Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2, both exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

You can also check out Rise’s first gameplay that was showcased at Tokyo Game Show.

FarmVille on Facebook Shuts Down This December

FarmVille, the farming simulation game that debuted on Facebook 11 years ago, will be shutting down this December, Zynga announced.

The free to play social network game about growing crops, raising animals, and paying real money to skip time will be supported until Dec. 31, 2020.

The reason for the closure is that Adobe will stop distributing and updating Flash Player on that same date, which FarmVille is built on as a game run in an internet browser, and Facebook will stop supporting flash games on its platform after that date.

“We’re aware that many of you have been with us since the very beginning, helping to build an incredible global community of players over the years who’ve enjoyed this game just as much as we have,” Zynga said in a support post. “For that we say thank you.”

In-app purchases will be available until Nov. 17, then the game’s payment system will be turned off. Players can still spend their remaining credits and play the game until Dec. 31.

Zynga said it is “working on fun in-game activities” for the remaining time, and pointed players towards Farmville 2: Tropic Escape on mobile and the upcoming worldwide launch of Farmville 3 for mobile, which is currently in soft launch.

FarmVille originally launched on Facebook in 2009 and became the most popular game on the site quickly, peaking at 83.76 million monthly active users in March 2010 and 34.5 million daily active users.
