After not one but two summer updates, along with a follow-up patch that removed hacked trees from the game, Nintendo has now rolled out Version 1.4.2 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Although it's only just gone live, it doesn't appear to be quite as exciting as the previous content updates.
Despite this, it still includes a lot of important fixes that address problems found in previous versions of the game - all the way back to Version 1.3.0. One of the highlights of this update is that shining soil will no longer appear behind buildings and "other" places. This should make life on your tropical island a little less stressful. Dreaming will no longer crash the game "under certain conditions", either.
